Vidya Vardhaka Polytechnic College

Vidya Vardhaka Polytechnic College is over in Gokulam III Stage in Mysore. We’ve been at this P.B. No. 206 address for quite a long time now. Mysore is a city that values education, and we are just one part of that local history. The college is set up for practical learning. We have workshops and classrooms where things actually get done. It’s not always the quietest place because of the tools and machines, but that's just the nature of a polytechnic school. The building is older, but it’s solid. We spend a lot of time maintaining the equipment so the students can actually use it for their projects. The staff here are practical people who know their trade. We don't spend much time on fancy speeches or marketing ourselves. Most of our days are spent checking schedules or making sure the labs are stocked with what’s needed for the next lesson. Students come from all over Karnataka to stay in Mysore and study here. The neighborhood in Gokulam is pretty nice, though it can get crowded during the peak morning hours. We try to keep the atmosphere focused on the work. It’s about getting the tasks done and passing the exams. There’s always someone asking a question or a bell ringing for the next period. We have a small staff room where we drink tea and talk about the day’s issues. It’s a straightforward life here, focused on the skills the students pick up before they leave.
