I’m an Assistant Professor at the Regional Institute of Education, which is part of Ncert. We are tucked away on the campus here and it’s a bit of a different world compared to the busy streets outside. My days are mostly spent teaching, talking to students, and working on various educational materials. It’s not a business in the traditional sense, but we still have a lot to manage. The office is usually overflowing with books, papers, and half-finished projects. We don't have a marketing team or anything like that because we are a public institution. Our focus is really just on education and how to make it better for the students and the teachers. Sometimes the bureaucracy can be a bit slow, which is frustrating, but we keep pushing forward anyway. The campus is quite green and peaceful, which helps when you have a lot of thinking to do. You’ll often find us sitting in the canteen discussing new ideas or arguing over some small detail in a textbook. We are just a group of people who care about learning. It’s not always glamorous and the pay isn't what you’d get in the private sector, but it feels like the right place to be. We don't put out fancy brochures about ourselves. People know us through the work we do and the students we train. It’s a quiet life of sorts, but we stay very busy nonetheless. There is always another lecture to prepare or a paper to grade.
