Sri Guru Binny Rice Mill

Working at Sri Guru Binny Rice Mill means getting used to the constant hum of machinery. We are located right opposite the APMC Yard on B. M. Road. Being near Thananiruhilla makes it convenient for the farmers and the trucks that come in and out all day long. It is a dusty job, and by the end of the shift, most of us have a thin layer of rice husks on our clothes. We have been milling rice here for a long time. The yard across the street is always buzzing with activity, which keeps things interesting. You can hear the auctions and the shouting of the traders from our front gate. Inside the mill, we focus on the grain. We check the moisture, we watch the hullers, and we make sure the bags are stitched tight. B. M. Road is a main artery, so there is never a dull moment with the traffic passing by. Our office is just a small room off to the side where we keep the records. It is usually quite warm in there, but we have a fan that helps a bit. We don't have any fancy brochures or a sales team. People know where we are and what we do because we’ve been here so long. It’s hard work, and the days are long during the harvest season, but it feels good to see the finished sacks stacked up and ready for the market.
