Rajendra Bhandar

You can find Rajendra Bhandar on the first floor of the Rama Krishna Market. We are at number 128 in Shivram Peth. It is always noisy around here with all the other shops and people shouting. Getting stock up to the first floor is a bit of a workout every morning, but we’ve got a routine for it now. The market has been around forever, and we are just one part of the bustle. Our shop is crowded with goods from floor to ceiling. Sometimes it’s hard to find a place to sit down when things get busy. We open early because that’s when the first customers start arriving. Shivram Peth is a tight-knit area, and we’ve known some of the other traders for years. We don’t do any big advertising or anything. People just know we are here. The light in the hallway is a bit dim sometimes, so you have to look closely for the sign. We handle all sorts of daily items that people need. It’s honest work. My son helps out when he isn't at school, and my brother is usually here too. We drink a lot of tea while we wait for deliveries. It’s a small space, but it works for us. We don't need much more than a counter and a ledger to keep things going. Sometimes we stay late to finish the accounts when the market finally goes quiet at night.
