Radiant English School

If you’re walking down the Main Road in Tipu Nagara, you’ll see Radiant English School at number 92. It’s a narrow building that goes back quite a way from the street. Being on the main road means we get a lot of dust and noise from the passing traffic, but it’s a convenient spot for everyone. We have a small entrance where the parents wait to pick up their children in the afternoon. Inside, the rooms are tucked away to keep the street noise down as much as possible. It’s not a very large school, so we all know each other’s names and faces. The walls are covered in some old drawings and charts that have been there for years. We spend most of our time just focusing on the books and the daily lessons. There isn't much space for a big playground, so the kids usually just sit and talk or play small games in the corridors during their break. We have a water cooler near the back that everyone uses. The roof leaks a little when the monsoon is particularly heavy, so we have to move some desks around then. It’s a simple setup, nothing like the big schools you see in the city center. We just provide a place for the children in Tipu Nagara to come and learn their English and other subjects every day.
