P. K. Steel Traders

P. K. Steel Traders is tucked away at 3042/1, Sawday Road in Lashkar Mohalla. If you know the area, you know it gets quite crowded around here. We’ve been operating out of this spot for a while now. The space is filled with steel, as you might guess from the name. It’s heavy work and it’s loud. We don't have a fancy showroom with lights and carpets. It’s mostly concrete floors and the smell of metal. We wear work boots and old shirts because there’s no point in dressing up when you’re moving steel bars all day. Our desks are covered in notebooks and scraps of paper where we jot down orders. It might look a bit disorganized to an outsider, but we know exactly where everything is. We don't do much advertising. Most people find us because they’ve heard about us from someone else in the trade. We just keep our heads down and do the work. The traffic on Sawday Road can be a nightmare in the afternoons, but we’re used to it by now. We close up when the sun goes down and start all over again the next morning. It’s a basic operation. No bells and whistles, just a lot of steel and hard work. We aren't trying to change the world, just trying to run a decent business here in the Mohalla and take care of our families.
