Being right near the Government Bus Stand in Lashkar Mohalla means there is never a quiet moment. You can hear the conductors shouting and the engines idling all day long. Our place is pretty straightforward, just a spot where we keep the steel and manage the orders. The yard isn’t that big, so we have to be really smart about how we stack the rods and sheets so everything fits. We spend a lot of time outside, regardless of if it is hot or raining. The ground is usually a bit uneven, so you have to watch your step. We do not have any fancy uniforms or a front desk. Usually, if you come by, you will find one of us covered in a bit of rust or grease from moving the stock around. We have been here for a while and the locals know the J.K. Steel sign, even if it is a bit faded now. It is a tough job sometimes, especially when we have to load things by hand because the crane is tied up. We do not have a big marketing team or anything like that. We just rely on the fact that we are easy to find and we have been here long enough that people know who we are. It is just a regular local business, doing what we know how to do without making a big fuss about it. We close up when the last bus leaves the stand.
