Appaji Govind

Our office is called Jyothirmayee and it sits right on 74/A in Mathuranagar. We are in the Metagalli Extension part of Mysore, which is a fairly quiet spot compared to the main city center. Appaji Govind is the name on the door and that’s who’s in charge. It’s a house that we converted into a working space, so it has that comfortable, homey feel. You won't find any glass walls or chrome furniture here. Instead, we have wooden tables and some plants that we try to keep alive. The neighborhood is mostly families, so we see kids playing outside in the evenings. We like it this way because it’s peaceful. Most of our work is done quietly at our desks. We take a long lunch break when it’s hot outside, usually around one or two in the afternoon. Sometimes we have tea together in the small garden area out front. It’s not a high-pressure environment, but we stay busy enough. We don't use fancy software for everything; sometimes a pen and paper are just easier. People in the area know us by name, which is nice. We’ve been in this part of Mysore for several years and don't plan on moving. It suits us just fine. We just focus on the task at hand and try to do a decent job every single day without overcomplicating things. There is a small bakery down the street that smells like fresh bread every morning.
