American Hair Saloon

We have been here at D. Market on Sayyaji Rao Road for a long time now. It’s a busy spot in Mysore and you can always hear the traffic outside while we work. The shop isn't fancy but the chairs are comfortable enough. Most people find us because they are walking through the market anyway. Sometimes the power goes out and we just wait it out with the customers. We’ve got the old name American Hair Saloon on the board outside. It’s just how things are here. I usually start the day early, sweeping the floor and getting the tools ready. You see a lot of different people coming through those doors every day. Some want a quick shave and others just need their hair shortened before a wedding or something. Sayyaji Rao Road is always crowded, especially near the market area. We just keep doing what we do. It gets hot in the afternoons but the fan helps a bit. People stop by to talk even if they don't need a haircut right then. It's a local place. No fancy coffee or anything like that, just a place to sit and get your hair done. We know most of the people around here by name. It’s just a small business trying to keep things moving. The mirrors are a bit old and have some spots but they work. We don't change much around here because it works fine the way it is.
