Sri Chamundeshwari Military Hotel

This place is near the ring road in Hebbal. If you look for Pop Sai Garments, we are right nearby. My brother and I run the daily operations here at Sri Chamundeshwari Military Hotel. It’s a bit of a trek for some people, but those who live in Mysore know the area well. We focus on the meat dishes that people expect from a military hotel. The masala we use is ground fresh every day. It’s not a fancy restaurant with air conditioning and soft chairs. We have sturdy tables and wooden benches. People come here for the ragi mudde and the mutton curry mostly. It can get pretty loud during lunchtime because of the crowd. We start early in the morning to get the meat prepped. The location at 155/2 is easy to find if you are coming off the main road. Sometimes we run out of the special gravy before the afternoon is over. We don't really advertise or do any promotions. People just find us by word of mouth or by the smell of the spices. It’s a lot of hard work and the kitchen is always steaming. We like it that way. It keeps us busy and the regulars seem happy enough with the portions we serve. It's just honest food for people who are hungry after a long day of work. We stay open until the pots are empty.
