Kalegowda Rice Mill

Our mill is right on the Mysore Bangalore Highway Road, specifically at Plot No. 224/1 in Kallahalli. Since we are right on the highway, we see a lot of trucks and cars passing by at all hours. It is a good spot for a rice mill because it is easy for transport to reach us without getting lost in small side streets. We have a fair amount of space on the plot for loading and unloading the grain. The work here is pretty repetitive but we don't mind it much. We start with the raw paddy and move it through the machines until it is ready for the bags. Kallahalli is a place where people know the value of hard work. We have a few staff members who have been with us for a long time and they know the machines better than anyone. The roof gets hot in the afternoon sun, so we try to get the heaviest lifting done early in the morning. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. We just rely on the fact that we have been here a long time and people trust the way we handle their rice. The highway can get noisy with all the honking, but once you are inside the mill, the sound of the husking machines takes over everything else. It’s just a regular local business doing what we know best.
