Sri Sai Upahar

Our place, Sri Sai Upahar, is in the Swamy Arcade building on Bogadi Ring Road. You can find us right near the State bank of Mysore in the Bogadi area. It’s a good spot because there are plenty of people living nearby and others just passing through on the Ring Road. We started this because we wanted to have a decent place for people to get food without having to go all the way into the city center. The mornings are our busiest time. We get a lot of people stopping in for a quick breakfast before they head to work. It’s a simple routine of making coffee and serving hot plates. We don't have a big corporate team behind us; it's just a local business run by local people. The Ring Road can get pretty dusty and loud with all the trucks, but we try to keep the inside comfortable. We’ve got a few tables where you can sit, or many people just stand and eat quickly. We don't bother with a lot of decorations or fancy menus. We just stick to the dishes that people around here like. It’s a lot of standing on your feet all day, but we’re used to it. We keep an eye on the clock and make sure we’re ready for the lunch crowd too. It’s just how things work here in Mysore, right at the Swamy Arcade.
