Our place is called the Indian Satellite Research Development Organisation Isrdo. Mysore is a peaceful city, and Kuvempunagar is a particularly nice area to be based. Our office is a simple building, nothing too flashy. We do research and development work here. It’s mostly technical stuff, like sitting at computers and looking at charts and numbers. We don’t have a big corporate culture. It’s more like a group of regular people working together on various projects. The Double Road is usually quite busy, so there’s always some background noise from the traffic and people passing by. We don’t have any mission statements or goals on the walls. We just have our calendars and some technical diagrams taped up. Sometimes we take a break and have tea at the small stall nearby. It’s a very local way of working and we like it that way. We aren't part of some big glass office complex with a lobby. We like being on the street level where things feel more real. We’ve been here for some time now and the neighbors in the area know who we are. It’s a straightforward business without any fluff. We don’t try to be anything we aren't. We just focus on the satellite research tasks we have in front of us and try to get things done by the end of the day. It’s a quiet but steady way to work in Mysore.
