Utkarshfarmers Producer Company Limited

This producer group runs out of House Number 232 in Tola Jagdishpur. Shivrani Devi helps out with the space there. We are in the Kurtha block area, specifically around Ahamadpur Harna. It is a group of local farmers who decided it was better to work as one unit instead of everyone doing their own thing. Most of us have small plots of land. We grow what we can and hope for the best each year. The office isn’t really an office, just a place to gather and talk. We discuss things like which seeds worked last time and where we can get a better price for the grain. It's honest work, and it takes up most of our time. We aren't looking to become some huge corporation. We just want to make sure the families in our village can keep farming. You’ll see us out in the fields most mornings before it gets too hot. Dealing with the bank or the government paperwork is the hardest part for us. We’d much rather be outside. Sometimes things go well, and sometimes the rain doesn’t come when it should. That’s just how it is here. We share the tools we have and try to help each other out when someone gets sick or behind on their work. It’s just a community effort to keep our village moving forward. We take it one day at a time, making sure everyone has what they need to keep their farms running.
