Sehri Estate Farmers Producer Company Limited is based in Sehri Buzurg. We operate out of the village, near Pathra Bazar. It's a rural area and we are all farmers ourselves. Ram Saran’s family has been here a long time and that's where we keep our main office. It’s not much to look at, just a room with some chairs and a desk for the paperwork. We spend most of our time out in the fields or talking to the other farmers in the village. This group was started because it's hard to do everything alone. We pool our resources and try to get better results for everyone. It’s not a corporate thing with big rules. We just do what makes sense for the season. Sometimes we are dealing with wheat, other times it’s whatever else is growing. Pathra Bazar is where we take things when they are ready. It’s a lot of manual labor and the days are long. We don't have a marketing department. We just talk to people face to face. If something goes wrong, we fix it ourselves. It's a very local way of doing things. We know every farmer in the group by name. It’s about sticking together in a place like Sehri Buzurg. We aren't experts in business, but we know farming. That’s enough for us to keep going every day. It's just about getting the work done.
