S & S Bricks

S & S Bricks is located over in Village Sukhpura. We are specifically out on Karagola Road, which is near Amarikukroan in the Tehsil Bhawanipur area. It’s a bit of a drive to get out here, but we like the space. Making bricks in a village like Sukhpura means you have to be ready for anything. The road can get muddy when the rains hit, and that makes moving the bricks a real chore. We have a lot of stacks sitting out near the entrance. It’s not a polished operation with uniforms and fancy desks. We wear old clothes because the red clay gets everywhere. You can’t really help it. Our neighbors know us as the place near Amarikukroan. We spend most of our hours under the sun, keeping an eye on the kilns and making sure the bricks are firing right. S & S Bricks isn't a massive factory; it is more like a local site where we do things by hand and with some basic equipment. Sometimes the power goes out, or a machine breaks down, and we just have to fix it ourselves. That is just how it is in Bhawanipur. We get people coming by on tractors to pick up loads for their houses. It is a practical business. We focus on the work and don't spend much time worrying about how the yard looks to strangers. It's just a bunch of guys working with dirt and fire to make something solid and useful for the area.
