Rajendra College

If you spend any time in Chapra, you probably know where Rajendra College is. It’s been a landmark in this part of Bihar for a long time. The address says 841301, but most people just know the way by heart. It is a big place with a lot of history behind it. You can see it in the way the stairs are worn down from years of students walking up and down. We have a lot of different departments, so there is always a mix of people around. Some are studying science, others are into literature or history. It gets very busy during exam season, and you can see students huddled together under the trees or in the hallways, whispering over their notes. Bihar can get quite hot, so the shade on campus is always popular. We don't use a lot of big words to describe ourselves. We are just a college where local kids come to get their degrees. The staff here is mostly local too, so we understand the challenges students face. Sometimes the electricity goes out, or the fans get a bit noisy, but we just keep going. It’s a real place with real problems and real successes. We take pride in the fact that so many people from Chapra have passed through these gates and gone on to do things with their lives. It’s just how it’s always been here since the start.
