Goraul Pragati Farmer Producer Company Limited is based out in the village. If you come to Katarmala, you just have to ask for Shyam Sundar Prasad Singh’s place. We are located right there in his house. This is a rural area, so everything is tied to the land and the weather. We are a group of farmers who decided to work together instead of everyone just doing their own thing. It makes it easier when we have to sell what we grow. There isn't a proper office building with a sign out front. We usually just meet under the shade or in the main room of the house. We talk about the crops, the seeds, and who is buying what this season. It's a lot of talk about rain and soil. Being in a tola like this means everyone knows everyone. We don't have fancy computers or a big staff. We do our own record-keeping in registers. It’s a bit slow sometimes, especially when the harvest is still growing, but we stay busy preparing for the next market day. The roads around here can be tough during the monsoon, but we are used to it. We just want to get a fair deal for the hard work we put into the fields.
