Biswas Hardware

Biswas Hardware is located in Sahebnagar, right near the Jama Masjid. If you’re coming through the village, you can’t really miss the masjid and we’re just a stone's throw away. It’s a local shop where we keep a bit of everything that people might need for their homes or farms. We have nails, hammers, some PVC pipes, and a few tins of paint stacked up in the back. The building is an old one, and it can get a bit cramped when more than two people are inside at once. Jalangi is a quiet place for the most part, but the shop gets lively on market days when everyone comes in from the surrounding areas. We spend a lot of time just chatting with the neighbors who drop by to pick up a few screws or some wire. It’s not a fancy setup with bright lights or anything, just some wooden shelves and a counter that’s seen better days. My father started this and now I spend most of my time here counting out washers and cutting lengths of rope. The dust from the road settles on everything, so we spend a lot of time wiping things down. It’s a simple life, and we’re usually open from early morning until the sun goes down and it’s time for prayers. People know where to find us if they need a tool or some help. Sometimes we run out of things, but we get new stock every Tuesday.
