We’ve been here at Apeejay House in Fort for a while now. It’s on the third floor of Plot 130, right there on Mumbai Samachar Marg. Being in Kala Ghoda is something else, there is always so much happening outside our windows. The traffic can be a nightmare though, especially when we are trying to get things delivered or when we have people coming in for meetings. Our office isn’t anything fancy, just a regular space where we handle the day-to-day food business. Most mornings start with a quick tea from the stall downstairs before we dive into the paperwork. The building itself has that old Mumbai charm but the lift can be a bit temperamental sometimes so we often just take the stairs to the third floor. It’s a workout we didn't ask for. We have a small team here and most of us have been around for a bit. We spend a lot of time on the phones and staring at spreadsheets. It gets quite noisy with the horns honking outside but you get used to it after a week or two. Sometimes the afternoon sun hits the desks just right and it gets a bit warm, but we make do. There’s always someone running around with a delivery note or a sample of something. We just try to keep things moving and make sure everything is sorted before the day ends and we all head back into the rush hour.
