West End Marbles

Our yard is at 7 Shantiniketan Janardan Sadan. It’s located on Ghole Road, inside the Elchiwala Building. If you're looking for us, we’re right opposite Kapolwadi. The whole place smells like wet stone and dust most of the time. We have all kinds of marble slabs leaning against the walls. It’s a heavy business, so there’s always a lot of grunt work involved in moving things around. The building itself has been around for ages. Ghole Road is always busy with people and cars, so getting the trucks in and out can be a real headache sometimes. We don't have a polished office with air conditioning and fancy chairs. It’s a working warehouse through and through. We spend our time checking the grains in the stone and making sure the cuts are what the customers asked for. Most people who come in are local builders or families trying to fix up their kitchens. We talk to them plainly about what works and what doesn't. Sometimes we have tea with the regulars who stop by to see what new stock we’ve got. It’s a straightforward way to make a living. You handle the stone, you talk to the people, and you try to get the deliveries out on time. The Elchiwala Building isn't the easiest to spot from a distance, but once you find Kapolwadi, you're basically there. We’ve stayed here because it’s a central spot for the trade. It gets quite loud during the day.
