You can find us on the 6th floor of the Bakhtawar building at 229 Nariman Point. Being in Nariman Point means we are right in the heart of Mumbai’s business district, but Vj Jindal Cocoa Pvt.Ltd. doesn’t really feel like those giant banking firms nearby. Our office often has that faint, sweet scent of cocoa beans, even though the actual processing happens elsewhere. We spend most of our time dealing with the trade and supply side of things. There are always bags of samples sitting around on the floor, and we spend hours looking at the color and texture of different powders. It’s a lot of staring at spreadsheets and talking to people across the country. The view of the ocean is nice, but usually, we are too busy with emails to look out the window much. The office furniture is a bit mismatched because we’ve added pieces over the years as we needed them. Our team is small, so everyone ends up doing a bit of everything, from answering the phones to checking the shipping documents. It can get stressful when a container is stuck at the port, but that’s just the reality of the business. We aren't trying to be the biggest name out there; we just want to make sure the chocolate makers get what they need. It’s practical, everyday work for us, and we quite like it that way.
