Varsha Marble

It’s been a good number of years now since we started Varsha Marble here on Mulund Goregaon Road. The shop is right across from Wockhard Hospital, so it’s easy to find if you’re coming from Mulund East. Most days we are just here moving slabs around and keeping the place somewhat clean, though marble dust gets everywhere no matter what you do. It’s hard work, especially when the sun is hitting the road and the trucks are going past constantly. We spend a lot of time talking to folks who are just starting to build their homes. They come in with all sorts of ideas. Sometimes it takes a long time to pick out the right piece because every slab looks different once you really look at it. We just keep the stock ready and wait for people to drop by. The traffic on this road can get pretty bad in the evenings, but we’re used to it by now. We usually open up early and stay until the light fades. It’s a simple business. We don't have fancy office chairs or anything, just the stone and some space to walk around. My father used to say the stone speaks for itself, so we don't do much talking unless someone asks a question about the thickness or where it came from. It's just how we do things here in Mulund. We don't have a website or anything like that, just the shop and the stones. If you pass the hospital, you'll see us there on the corner by the road.
