Dahisar West is a crowded part of town, and Shri Krishna Industrial Estate is right in the middle of that hustle. We occupy units 213 and 216 here. At Vaidehi Foods, the day starts before the sun is even fully up. Dealing with food means you can’t really wait around. The floors are usually a bit damp from the morning wash-down, and the staff is already busy sorting through the ingredients we got delivered. It’s not a glamorous place. The walls could use a new coat of paint, and the ceiling fans hum a bit too loud, but the work gets done. We have about fifteen people who have been with us for a long time. They know exactly where everything is in the pantry and the production area. When you walk into the estate, you can hear the sounds of all the different businesses, but our spot usually smells the best. We don't spend money on fancy marketing or a big website. We just focus on what’s in front of us. Most of our time is spent making sure the packaging is tight and the batches look right. Sometimes the delivery trucks get stuck in the narrow entrance of the estate, and we all have to go out and help guide them in. It’s just another day at the office for us. We’re just a local business trying to stay steady in a busy city, making things people actually use.
