You can find us in the Shamji Ladha Building, which is number 357 on Bhandarkar Road. We are right in the heart of Matunga East, a part of Mumbai that I’ve always liked. The building itself has that old Mumbai charm, though the stairs can be a bit of a climb if you aren't used to them. We’ve got a lot of frames on the walls and drawers full of contact lenses. It’s a bit of a squeeze when we have more than three people in the shop at once, but we make it work. Bhandarkar Road is always busy with traffic and people walking to the station, so there is never a dull moment. I spend my time helping people pick out frames that don't slide off their noses. It’s funny how picky people can be about their glasses, but I guess you have to wear them every day, so it matters. The light in the shop is quite bright because we need to see the small details on the lenses. Sometimes the Mumbai rain makes the walls a bit damp, but we keep everything wiped down and dry. Most of our customers are locals who have been coming to Matunga for years. They usually stop by for a quick adjustment or to get their eyes checked before heading to the market. We don't put on any acts here; we just help you find what you need and send you on your way.
