Unilever Food Solutions

Unilever Food Solutions is over at B-2, Level-1 of Unilever House on B.D. Sawant Marg in Chakala, Andheri East. It’s a big building, and being on the first level means we see everyone coming in and out. The area of Chakala is always crowded with people rushing to the metro or trying to beat the traffic on the highway. Inside, it’s a bit quieter, but there’s still that hum of an office. We have desks lined up and a lot of people talking on phones or typing away. It’s not like the small shops you see on the street. Everything is organized, though my own desk usually has a few coffee stains on it. We spend a lot of time looking at screens and talking about food products. The canteen downstairs is where most of us end up at midday. It’s a typical Mumbai office life where you’re always keeping an eye on the clock for the next meeting or the commute home. The windows look out onto the street, and you can see the rains hitting the glass really hard during the monsoon. It gets a bit grey outside then. We aren't doing anything mysterious here; it's just a lot of coordination and making sure things get to where they need to go. Even though it’s a big name on the door, we’re just a bunch of people trying to get through the work day. Sometimes the elevator takes too long.
