We’ve been here at shop number 8 in the Ismail Building for quite a long time now. If you know Lohar Chawl, you know how busy it gets around Pathak Wadi. We mostly deal with the regular stuff people need for their houses or projects, keeping things stocked up on the ground floor so nobody has to climb stairs. It’s a small space, but we pack a lot in there. Most days it is just us handling orders and making sure the right parts go to the right people. It isn't anything fancy. We just open up in the morning, sort through what came in, and help whoever walks through the door. Mumbai is always moving, and this area especially is always crowded with people looking for specific bits and pieces. We try to keep track of what’s on the shelves, though sometimes it gets a bit cluttered when a big delivery arrives. We don't have a big team or anything, just a few of us who know where everything is kept. If you are around 33-Pathak Wadi, you’ll see our sign. We've seen the neighborhood change a bit over the years, but the way we do things stays pretty much the same. We just focus on the work at hand and getting through the daily list. It’s a living, and we’re glad to be part of the local market here. Nothing more to it than that.
