Tirupathi Motors

Tirupathi Motors is tucked away in Shop No 19 of the Vora Gandhi Building in Bhuleshwar. If you know Bhuleshwar, you know how narrow the lanes are and how many people are always rushing around. Our shop is right in the middle of all that chaos. We deal with motor parts and various bits and pieces for vehicles. The shop is filled with shelves that go all the way up, packed with boxes of different sizes. Half the time we have to use a ladder just to find what a customer is asking for. It’s a bit of a squeeze inside, especially when we have more than two people trying to look at something at the same time. The building itself is old, but it’s sturdy. We’ve been here long enough that we don't mind the noise from the street anymore. Working in Bhuleshwar means you have to be quick and you have to know your stock well. We don't really have a computer system to tell us where everything is; we just know where we put things over the years. It’s a lot of manual work, lifting heavy boxes and keeping everything organized. Most of our customers are mechanics or people who know exactly what part number they need. We just hand it over and move on to the next task. It’s a busy life, but it keeps us going. The shop gets quite dark in the corners, but we know our way around.
