That Ingredient Company

We are up on the second floor of KK Chambers on Sir Pt Marg. It’s right in the Fort area, specifically on Shaheed Bhagat Singh Road, very close to the G.P.O. If you know Mumbai, you know this part of town is full of old buildings and lots of history. Our office has those high ceilings and windows that let in the city noise. We work with ingredients, mostly for the food industry. It is a lot of back-and-forth with suppliers and shipping companies. The stairs up to the second floor are a bit steep, but we’re used to them by now. Inside, it’s a mix of old wooden desks and piles of samples. We don't really do fancy presentations. Usually, we are just talking to people over the phone or meeting regular clients who have been coming to us for years. The location is great because we are near the heart of everything, but the parking is a total nightmare, so we mostly take the train or walk. There is a lot of paperwork involved in what we do, especially with things coming and going through the port. We spend our mornings sorting through mail and our afternoons chasing after deliveries. It’s a small team, so everyone ends up doing a bit of everything, from answering the door to checking the quality of the batches we receive. It’s just a steady, daily grind in a very busy part of the city.
