Synthetics Polymer Industries

We are tucked away in Anand Nagar, over in the Appa Pada area of Kurar Village. It’s a bit of a maze to get here if you aren't familiar with the side streets in Andheri East. Synthetics Polymer Industries has been operating out of this spot for a long time. It’s more of a workshop than a corporate office. There is a lot of machinery running and the smell of raw materials is pretty strong as soon as you walk in. We deal with polymers, which means we spend a lot of time around heat and heavy molds. It’s physical, tiring work. We wear overalls mostly. The floor is always a bit dusty, no matter how much we sweep at the end of the shift. It’s just the nature of what we do. There are about ten of us here on a regular day. We know the machines inside and out. If one breaks, we usually fix it ourselves with whatever tools we have. We don't have a marketing guy or anyone to write fancy brochures for us. Most of our work comes from people who have known us for years. We just make the parts, pack them up, and send them out to whoever ordered them. It’s loud during the day, so we have to shout a bit to be heard over the fans. It’s a honest living. We aren't making anything revolutionary, just good polymer products that do what they’re supposed to do.
