Suhag Spot

Suhag Spot is at shop number 105 in Mulund West, tucked right behind the Akshay Hotel. We have been here for a good long time, selling all the small items that people need for weddings or just everyday wear. Our shelves are packed tight with bangles, bindis, and all sorts of imitation jewelry. It can look a bit cluttered to an outsider because we try to fit so much into this small space, but we know exactly where everything is kept. Customers come in looking for a very specific shade of green for a sari or a certain design of earrings, and we spend time digging through our boxes to find the right match. It is a local shop, so we know many of the people who walk through the door by their first names. They have been coming to us since they were children, and now they bring their own kids along. We do not have a fancy air-conditioned showroom; it is just a regular shop with a wooden counter and some stools for customers to sit on. The street outside is usually noisy and busy, especially with the hotel being so close. We open up every morning and stay until the evening. Sometimes the light inside the shop isn't great, so we often take things to the doorway to show the true color in the natural light. We just enjoy being a part of this neighborhood.
