V.M. & Son'S

Up on the third floor of the Shiv Aashish building in Malad East is where you will find us. The office sits on Haji Bapu Road, which is right near the Jain temple on Jitender Road. My father was the one who started this business a long time ago. Now I spend my days here working alongside him. Our space is small and usually filled with stacks of paper from floor to ceiling. Those old wooden chairs in the corner have been around as long as the business itself. Since it is a typical Malad building, things feel a bit cramped, but we are used to that. The sounds of the busy street and temple bells come through the window all day long. A bit of everything happens here, though it is mostly trade and the paperwork that goes with it. Being a family thing means we do not have many employees or outsiders. Most of the other shop owners in this building have become our friends over the years. Sometimes we head downstairs for a quick tea at the corner stall. A fancy website or a marketing person is not something we ever needed. Clients have been coming to see us for decades because they know our family. It is an honest living that keeps us going. While we keep the place clean, it is definitely an old space. If the elevator is broken, we just take the stairs like everyone else. Starting the day with a small prayer is our tradition. That is just the way we do things at V.M. & Son'S.
