Sowani & Associates

Sowani & Associates is located in the Khindipada area of Bhandup West. To be more specific, we are in Eakta CHS, Chawl Number 3, Room Number 6. It’s a tight space, as anyone who knows the chawls in Mumbai can imagine. We don’t have a lot of room for anything that isn't absolutely necessary for the work. There are files stacked in corners and the desks are pushed close together. It’s a lively neighborhood, though. There is always someone walking by the door or kids playing nearby. You can hear the sounds of the neighborhood all day long. We start early to beat some of the heat and the noise. Working in a room like this means you get to know your colleagues very well. There’s no room for secrets or for being overly formal. We just sit down, do what needs to be done, and talk to each other about what’s next. Sometimes it gets a bit chaotic when more than two people come in at once, but we manage to sort it out. We aren't trying to impress anyone with a fancy lobby or air conditioning that works perfectly all the time. It’s a simple office for practical work. We’ve been in Bhandup long enough to know how things work here. It’s about being present and getting the daily chores finished so we can go home to our families in the evening without any fuss.
