Somaiya Organo Chemicals

Somaiya Organo Chemicals is based at 45/47, Fazal Bhoy Bldg., on M.G. Road in the Fort area. Being in Fort means we are surrounded by a lot of history and old architecture. Our building, Fazal Bhoy, has that classic feel to it with high ceilings and thick walls. It gets a bit dusty because of all the cars and buses going past on M.G. Road, but we are used to it. We handle the administrative side of the chemical business from this office. There are desks everywhere and plenty of filing cabinets filled with records from over the years. We do not have a big lobby or a fancy entrance. You just walk in and see everyone at their desks working on their computers or talking on the phone. It can get quite loud during the middle of the day when everyone is busy. We spend a lot of time talking to suppliers and customers to make sure the logistics are moving smoothly. It is not a glamorous job, but it is what we do. Most of us take the train to get here since we are close to the station. We usually grab tea from the stall just around the corner and have it at our desks. The office is a bit cluttered, but we know where everything is kept. We just focus on the daily tasks and try to stay organized despite the chaos of the city.
