Lower Parel is always moving way too fast, and our office is right in the middle of all that chaos. At Jostars Orgotech, we spend the bulk of our week dealing with the technical side of the business. It isn't like those shiny corporate towers you see in the magazine photos; our space is much more functional and feels lived-in. We have desks piled with folders and various samples scattered around the room. There is usually someone on a loud call or typing away at a laptop near the window. The local train station isn’t very far, so you can always hear that distant rumble throughout the day. We started out focusing on organic tech because it felt like a good idea at the time, and since then, we have just been trying to figure things out as we go along. We aren't a huge team, so everyone ends up doing a little bit of everything, from answering phones to checking inventory. Lunch is usually someone bringing in a tiffin or ordering a quick snack from the small stall downstairs. We don't spend much time on fancy meetings or long presentations. Most of our decisions happen over a hot cup of tea while we are looking at a messy spreadsheet. It gets a bit cramped when we get new stock in, but we manage to shift things around. We are just regular people trying to build something that actually works without making a fuss about it. We stay busy and keep the work going.
