Our office, Nandolia Organic Chemicals Pvt Ltd, is tucked away on S V Road at Level-II, units 36 and 37. If you know S V Road, you know how the traffic is—just a constant stream of cars and buses from morning until late at night. We spend most of our time inside these walls dealing with the logistics of organic chemicals. It’s a lot of technical talk and checking specifications on long sheets of paper. The office isn't anything special to look at, just desks, filing cabinets, and some samples sitting on the shelves. We’ve been operating from this spot for a while. The building has that old Mumbai feel to it, with narrow hallways and a lift that sometimes has a mind of its own. Talking to suppliers and transport companies on the phone takes up a big chunk of the day. It’s quiet work for the most part, punctuated by the sound of the traffic outside. We drink a lot of coffee to stay sharp through the afternoon slump. Most of us have been working together for years, so we have our own way of doing things. We don't go for fancy decorations or big corporate meetings. We just get through the lists of what needs to be shipped and what needs to be ordered. It’s a practical business. We focus on the details of the chemicals and making sure the labels are right. That’s about it for us. We just keep our heads down.
