S.M. Semiconductors

Our place is on the ground floor of Bakul Baugh, right in Vasundhara. If you look across the street, you’ll see the Indian Bank on S.V. Road. It’s a very busy part of Santacruz West. There is always a lot of honking and people rushing by outside. Inside, it’s a bit quieter, mostly because we deal with small components that you can’t really see without looking close. We spend a lot of time sorting through bins of semiconductors and looking at technical sheets. It’s not flashy work. The office has been the same for years, with stacks of boxes reaching the ceiling and a desk that’s seen better days. We don't have a lobby or anything like that. You just walk in and someone will help you find the part you’re looking for. We know the regulars by name. S.V. Road can be a nightmare to cross at five o’clock, so we usually try to finish up before the worst of the traffic hits. Dealing with electronics means everything is always changing, but our little spot here stays pretty much the same. We focus on the inventory and making sure the numbers match up. It’s a small operation, just a few of us making sure people get the right components for their projects without making a big fuss about it. We just keep our heads down and handle the daily orders as they come in.
