Our office is inside Chandra Bhavan, which you will find on the 5th Lane of Khetwadi in the Girgaon area. We are up on the third floor in unit number 26. Girgaon is one of those traditional Mumbai neighborhoods where the lanes are quite narrow and every single building seems to have its own long history. Sidhpura Stone Private Limited has its main office right in the thick of all that. It is a very lively area to work in, especially when there are festivals happening in the streets below. The building itself is on Plot 1/3, and it has that classic old Mumbai feel with the steep stairs and the high ceilings. We do not have a huge amount of space in the office, but we make it work for us. Most of our day is spent either on the phone or going through the accounting books. We deal in stones, so we always have random bits and pieces of granite or marble lying around on the desks. It is not meant to be a showroom; it is just where the administrative side of the business gets done. Getting to the office can be a bit of a trek from the main road, but it is a nice walk through the local markets. The room is usually filled with the smell of tea and the steady hum of the ceiling fan. We are just a small team of regular people.
