Shree Siddhi Vinayak Marble And Granite is in the Irani Compound over in Iraniwadi. We are right on the Goregaon Mulund Link Road in Goregaon East. It’s a very busy spot because of the flyover and the railway bridge nearby. You can always hear the trains passing or the cars stuck in traffic. Lucky Restaurant is close by too, so sometimes you can smell the food while we are working. We have big slabs of marble and granite stacked all over the place. They are heavy and take a lot of effort to move around. The yard is usually white with stone dust from the cutting and polishing. It gets on your shoes and your clothes no matter how careful you are. We don't have a fancy air-conditioned office. It’s mostly just the outdoor yard and a small space for the accounts. People come by to look at the patterns in the stone for their kitchens or floors. Every piece of granite is a bit different, which is interesting I guess. The traffic on the Link Road is a nightmare sometimes, especially in the evenings when everyone is heading home. We just keep working until it’s time to close up. It’s a noisy and messy business, but we have been in Goregaon East for a while now. Most people find us just by seeing the big stones piled up near the road.
