Shree Sai Machinery

Down at Gala No 24-D in Silva Baug, things are usually pretty loud. That’s just the way it is when you’re running Shree Sai Machinery. Being in Ghatkopar West, right near Aarey Road, means there is always something happening outside the Pradhan Building. The shop is filled with various parts and heavy things that we move around all day. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze in the gala sometimes, especially when a big delivery comes in. We’ve got oil on the floor and tools on every surface. It’s not the kind of place where you’d want to wear your best clothes. My hands are usually stained with grease by noon. We mostly deal with local folks who need something fixed or a part replaced. Some days the heat is a bit much under the tin roof, but we just keep the fans going and carry on. We don't have a big office or a receptionist. If the phone rings, one of us just wipes our hands and picks it up. It’s a straightforward way to earn a living. We’ve known the neighbors for years, and we all kind of look out for each other. Sometimes we stay late to finish a job, and other times we close up early if things are slow. It’s just how it goes here. We aren't doing anything fancy, just working with our hands.
