We are located at A-7 in the Shakti Apartments on the ground floor. It’s on Productivity Road in Akota, Vadodara, and we’re quite close to the Maharaja Restaurant, which is a good landmark for people visiting us for the first time. Even though some of our paperwork mentions Andheri East, this is where we do our main business with granite and marble. The ground floor space is mostly filled with samples and slabs of stone that we show to customers who are looking to fix up their homes or offices. It gets a bit dusty sometimes because of the nature of the stones, but that’s just part of the job. We have a small team here who knows the difference between the various grades of marble and what works best for flooring versus counters. It’s heavy work moving these pieces around, but we’ve been doing it long enough to have a system. We don’t have a fancy showroom with bright lights; it’s more of a practical place where you can see the actual stone you’re buying. We talk to a lot of builders and also regular homeowners who just want to change a room. We try to give them a fair price and explain how the stone will wear over time. It’s a straightforward business and we like the tangible side of dealing with natural materials every day. We just stay busy with the orders and keep the stone moving out to sites and different projects.
