Shivdasani Clinic

Maker Arcade is a bit dated but it has its charm. Our clinic is at No. 86 on the ground floor, which is handy for anyone visiting Maker Towers. Shivdasani Clinic has been right here in Cuffe Parade for a long time. Being in Colaba, we get a lot of different people walking by. The Arcade has that specific smell of old stone and dust. Inside, the rooms are small but we make it work for our daily checkups. We have a desk that has probably been here since we first opened. The windows look out onto the walkway where people go to the other shops in the building. It’s a fairly quiet place most of the morning. We see the regulars who have lived in the towers for decades. They often come in to talk about their day. We keep a stack of old newspapers on the side table. The lighting is a bit yellow and soft, not like those bright modern places. There is no big flashy sign outside, just a small nameplate on the door. We spend most of the afternoon answering the landline or updating the ledger. It’s a very steady environment and we like it. Sometimes the sea breeze reaches us if the main doors are open. The floor is marble but it's pretty old and dull now. It feels like home.
