Our daily work happens at Manik Baug 32 in the Anushakti Nagar area. Dr Dr Dey Gautam Kumar works from this location, and we are the ones who assist with the daily runnings of the office. It is a relatively quiet and peaceful spot for a medical practice to be. Anushakti Nagar is a nice part of the city, with plenty of green trees and it is usually much calmer than the noisier districts nearby. We have a small area for people to wait in and a simple consultation room for the doctor. It isn't a big clinic with dozens of staff members running around. Usually, it’s just the doctor and a couple of us helping out with the patients and the files. We see a lot of people who live right here in the colony or in the buildings just down the road. Our routine stays the same most days; we open up the doors in the morning and wait for the first person to arrive for their appointment. We don’t have any fancy or expensive equipment sitting around, just the basic stuff that is actually needed for the work. People seem to like coming here because it isn't an intimidating place. It feels a bit like a regular house in some ways because it is just at Manik Baug 32. We take care of the paperwork and make sure the place stays clean enough. It’s just a practical way to run a small medical service for the locals. We’ve been here for many years and we know the street very well.
