Shaikhziaur Rehman

My name is Shaikhziaur Rehman and I run things here on Pipe Road in Kurla West. It's a busy part of Mumbai, as anyone who lives around here knows. I’ve been at this for a while now. Most days you can find me right here at the shop or handling bits and pieces of work that come my way. It isn't a huge operation, just me and a few others helping out when it gets crowded. People usually stop by because they know where we are. We don't really do much fancy stuff. The space is a bit cramped, honestly, with all the stock and the noise from the road outside, but we manage. Sometimes the rain makes it a bit of a mess around Kurla, yet the work keeps moving. I started this because I needed a way to support my family and it just grew from there. It's nothing too special to look at, just a regular place where things get done. If you're walking down towards the station side, you'll probably pass us. We keep odd hours sometimes depending on what's pending. There’s always tea being passed around and someone talking loudly about the traffic. It’s just life in Mumbai, really. I don't have a big website or anything, just this address and the work we do every day. It’s hard work, but it’s honest and it keeps us going. That's pretty much the whole story of how we operate here.
