Savla Ceramics

Savla Ceramics is located at 154/A Goregaon West, inside the Atul Niwas building. If you come by, you will see piles of tiles and various ceramic pieces stacked up all over the place. It is not a fancy showroom with bright lights and polished floors. Most of the time, the floor has a thin layer of dust from the clay and the boxes we move around. My back usually starts to ache by the afternoon because there is a lot of heavy lifting involved in this trade. People stop in looking for specific colors or patterns for their homes. Sometimes we have exactly what they want in the back, and other times we have to tell them we are out of stock. Goregaon is a crowded area, so parking near the shop is always a bit of a struggle for our visitors. We tell everyone to try and come early in the morning. We have been in this same spot for years, and most of the neighbors know our faces. We do not do much talking or trying to convince people. We just show the samples we have leaning against the walls. Some of the pieces are old stock and some are newer arrivals. Every now and then, something breaks during a delivery, which is frustrating, but we just sweep it up and keep going. It is a basic shop for people who just need tiles.
