Kohinoor Marble

If you head toward the Vakola Bridge on Nehru Road, that is where you will find us. We have been at this spot in Santacruz East for a long time. It is a busy area, with lots of noise from the traffic and people moving about. Kohinoor Marble is basically a place where we keep the slabs and talk to customers about what they need for their floors or kitchens. It gets pretty dusty because, well, it is marble. You can’t really keep a place like this perfectly clean all the time. We spend most of our mornings moving things around and checking the stock. It is heavy work, and our boots are usually white from the stone dust by the end of the shift. We don’t have a big marketing team or anything like that. It is just a few of us here making sure the deliveries get out and the stone looks right. Sometimes people come in with very specific ideas, and we just show them what is available in the yard. It is straightforward. We have seen the bridge get busier every year. Most of our neighbors know us by now. It is not a glamorous job, but it is what we do. We just keep the gates open and handle the daily grind of the stone trade. There is always something to lift or a slab to measure, so we stay busy enough.
