Sanika Tools

Sanika Tools is tucked away in Sanghavi Industrial Estate, right near Hindustan Naka. If you know M.G. Road in Kandivali West, you know it's always packed with people and trucks. Our unit is at number 8. It’s not a huge space by any means, but we fit all our tool-making gear in there somehow. Usually, someone is grinding something or checking a measurement with a caliper when you walk in. We started small and stayed that way because it's easier to manage things ourselves. The estate has a lot of noise, with trucks coming in and out all day long. We spend most of our time at the workbenches. Sometimes the power goes out, or the heavy rain makes it hard to get deliveries in, but we manage. Making tools is straightforward work if you pay attention to what you're doing. We don't have a fancy reception desk or anyone to answer phones all day long. If the phone rings, one of us just wipes our hands on a rag and picks it up. Most of our customers are from nearby, so they just stop in to see how things are going. We’ve been here long enough that people know exactly where to find us. It’s dusty work, and we don’t wear suits or anything like that. We just show up, do the machining, and head home when we're done. The workshop is our second home, really. It's just a bunch of tools and some raw steel.
