Safilo India Pvt. Ltd. is based out here in the NNN area of Navi Mumbai. It’s a busy part of the city with a lot of trucks moving in and out all day long. Our space is pretty straightforward. We handle a lot of eyewear, so there are boxes of frames and glasses stacked up in different sections. It’s not a showroom where people come to browse; it’s more of a place where the real work of sorting and shipping happens. The air conditioning is always running because we have to keep the environment right for the inventory. We have a small break room where we drink chai and talk about the cricket scores. Navi Mumbai is spread out, so some of us have a long commute to get here every morning. The building is one of those standard gray ones you see all over this district. We don't have much on the walls except for some calendars and maybe a few posters. Our team is a mix of people who have been here since the start and some newer faces. We mostly just focus on getting the right boxes to the right places without too much fuss. The traffic near the port can be a nightmare, so we try to get our loading done early. It’s a lot of routine, but we’re used to it. We keep things moving as best as we can every day.
