S. L. Raheja Hospital

If you go down Raheja Rugnalaya Marg in Mahim West, you’ll find S. L. Raheja Hospital. It’s a big place that’s been part of the Mahim landscape for quite some time. Working here means you’re always on the move. There is no such thing as a slow day in a place like this. From the moment the sun comes up, the entrance is crowded with people coming for appointments or visiting family. It’s a functional space designed to handle a lot of patients at once. We have several floors, and each one stays busy with its own set of challenges. The atmosphere is usually quite serious, as you’d expect, but you also hear the staff chatting in the breakroom when they get a rare five minutes of peace. We don’t have a lot of decorative stuff on the walls; it’s mostly just signs and medical posters. It’s a practical environment. The noise from the street outside sometimes drifts in, reminding us how busy Mumbai is. Many of the patients have been coming here for years, and their families know the staff by face if not by name. We just try to keep things moving as smoothly as possible, even when the paperwork starts piling up on the desks. It’s a lot of responsibility, but we just take it one patient at a time and get through the day.
