Red Bell Pepper

Red Bell Pepper is located at number 20 on Ramkrishna Kar Road in Chembur Camp. It’s a lively neighborhood. There’s always something going on outside, whether it’s a festival or just the usual evening rush. Our place is not very big. We have a small kitchen and a few tables for people to sit if they want. Mostly people just stop in. We’ve been here for a few years and we know most of the shopkeepers on the block. The sign outside is a little faded from the rain last year but you can still read it. Inside, it smells like spices and sometimes a bit of smoke when the grill is going. We keep a fan running all day to stay cool. It’s a simple setup. We don't have a manager or anything like that, just me and two other guys who do the cooking and the cleaning. We take turns with the chores. Sometimes we run out of things and one of us has to run down the street to the market. It’s a bit chaotic but it works for us. Ramkrishna Kar Road is one of those streets that never seems to sleep. Even late at night, there are people around. We like being part of the Chembur Camp area. It feels like home to us. We just keep our heads down and do the work. The pavement outside is always uneven so you have to watch your step coming in.
